I plan a lot. When I was a student, I use last few pages of my notebook to write down the dates and fill them with the topics/subj I have to read/finish. The same thing I did till I finished my engineering. Though I did this for many years, but I am still not a good planner. I fail to stick to my plans every now and then. When I ask others about this, they also say the same thing, then I get assured inside, not only me it’s same with everyone around me. Few things I observed are:
- Planning can be done for a week that is for short term. Short term plans are good, easy to stick to.
- You can do this in your mind(like a cron running and to be checked frequently), for this you need to practice a lot. And you should have a very good memory and processing power. You should have Information on the spot :)
- Planning’s to be done by self not by others.
- You start planning when you have nothing to do at all, you have blank mind and purpose is to do something. Otherwise you have really a lot to do.
It works when constraints and assumptions put by you exactly matches those of nature.
And it works well when you don’t tell others even a bit of it.
I am writing about day to day plans and hoping that it leads to implementation. Yeah I know, long term plans are needed but special cases are to be handled by special ones ;)
Now-a-days, I don’t plan at all. I know I won’t stick to it. I list down few things I have to do in some time-frame where this time-frame is unidentified variable :)
